Risen 2 Dark Waters (Keg Edition)

They called it the Keg Edition, and it delivered exactly the kind of excess that name implies. The Risen 2 Dark Waters Keg Edition on Xbox 360 is the version you buy when you want your collection to make a statement about commitment to pirate-themed RPGs. Front and center is the 18-inch Jaffar gnome figure, a beautifully bizarre statue of a character from the game that has no business being as charming as it is.

Backing that up is a large map of the game world, an A1-size poster, a Soundtrack CD, a Making of DVD, a set of prints from The Art of Risen 2, three pirate stickers, a pirate flag, a metal voodoo amulet, and an illustrated guide. The map and poster at that size are the kind of wall-worthy extras that collectors actually use, not just file away. Piranha Bytes went hard on the physical goods here, and the Keg Edition sits in that sweet spot between the standard Collector's Edition and the ultra-premium Steelbeards Treasure Edition.

It shares DNA with both but carves out its own identity with the oversized map and poster inclusions. That gnome figure remains one of the more distinctive statues from the Xbox 360 era, the sort of piece that visitors pick up and immediately ask about. This is mid-gen collecting at its most enthusiastic, from an era when publishers still believed physical extras could sell a game.
