Platinum Games made a Metal Gear game about a cyborg ninja cutting everything in half, and Konami had the good sense to give it a collector's edition with a figure worthy of that energy. The Metal Gear Rising Revengeance Limited Edition on Xbox 360 is lean, focused, and built around one undeniable centerpiece.

That centerpiece is the White Raiden action figure by Play Arts Kai. If you know the Play Arts Kai line, you know they don't do throwaway pack-ins. This is a fully articulated, premium-quality figure depicting Raiden in his exclusive white armor variant. The sculpt captures the sleek, almost surgical design of Rising's version of the character, all sharp angles and controlled aggression. On a shelf surrounded by standard game figures, this one commands attention.

The exclusive White Armor DLC ties the physical and digital together, letting you run through the game wearing the same variant your figure is sporting. It's a small touch, but it's the kind of cohesion that collectors notice and appreciate.

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance was a wild departure for the franchise, and opinions at launch were split. Time has been extraordinarily kind to it. The game's stock has only risen, and with it, the desirability of its limited editions. The 360 version occupies an interesting space since the game found most of its audience on PS3 and later on PC, making Xbox 360 copies less common in the wild. A Play Arts Kai figure, a beloved cult game, and the quieter side of a console's install base. That's a recipe for a collector's piece that only gets harder to find.
