Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Collector's Edition
EA2/7/2012Americas

Seven hundred copies across all platforms. A McFarlane figure. A signed lithograph. The Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Collector's Edition on Playstation 3 sits right in the sweet spot between the loaded Special Edition and the impossibly rare Signature Edition, delivering premium physical goods with production numbers low enough to make seasoned collectors pay attention.

Inside the large cardboard box with slip cover, you get everything from the Special Edition, the parchment map, dice set, Destiny Cards, soundtrack, and DLC. On top of that, this tier adds a Limited Edition McFarlane Toys Prismere Troll figure numbered out of 1,600, plus an original lithograph signed by legendary RPG designer Ken Rolston, numbered out of 1,000. Like its sibling editions, this was only available through pre-order on the official online store.

The McFarlane Troll figure is the centerpiece. Todd McFarlane's creature design work defined Amalur's visual identity, and owning a numbered figure from that collaboration is like holding a piece of the game's DNA. Ken Rolston's signed lithograph adds genuine autograph value from the man who previously directed Morrowind and Oblivion. These aren't generic pack-ins. They're artifacts from the people who built the game.

With 700 units split across platforms, the PS3 share was a fraction of that already small number. This Collector's Edition represents the best balance of content, craftsmanship, and scarcity in the Amalur lineup. It's the one that gives you the full collector experience without needing to win a lottery to find it.
