Dark Souls II (Black Armor Edition)

The Canadian release gets its own spelling and its own collector credibility. The Dark Souls II Black Armor Edition on Playstation 3 hit Canadian shelves in March 2014 with a metal case and Soundtrack CD, delivering the same punishing excellence in North American packaging.
Regional variants matter in Souls collecting, and the Canadian Black Armor Edition (note the spelling, no "u" in Armor) represents the North American branch of this release. The metal case shares the same premium build quality that makes these PS3-era steelbook-style packages so displayable, but the regional distinction gives completionists a reason to track this one down specifically. Canadian game releases often flew under the radar compared to their US counterparts, and print numbers reflected that smaller market.
The Soundtrack CD remains a highlight regardless of region. Having From Software's atmospheric score on a physical disc is the kind of tangible bonus that defines the pre-digital collector era. The PS3 generation gave us physical media at its most refined, right before the industry pivoted hard toward download codes and digital deluxe tiers. This metal case is a monument to that era, and the Canadian variant is a worthy addition to any Souls shelf.
