Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Collector's Edition
EA2/7/2012

Sitting between the Special and Signature editions in Amalur's tiered collector's hierarchy, the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Collector's Edition on PC is the sweet spot of rarity and substance. Only 700 copies were produced across all platforms, available exclusively by pre-order through the official online store.

The Collector's Edition builds on the Special Edition's already generous spread, the parchment map, dice set, Destiny Cards, soundtrack, and DLC, by adding two significant physical pieces. The Limited Edition McFarlane Toys Prismere Troll figure, individually numbered out of 1,600, brings Todd McFarlane's creature design expertise into three dimensions. And the original lithograph, signed by legendary RPG designer Ken Rolston and numbered out of 1,000, ties directly to the man who served as lead designer on both Morrowind and Oblivion before helming Amalur.

That Rolston signature is particularly meaningful for RPG collectors. This was his post-Bethesda passion project, the game where he applied decades of open-world design philosophy to a brand new IP. Having his signed artwork as part of the package creates a direct line between the Elder Scrolls legacy and Amalur's ambition.

At 700 copies across PC, PS3, and 360, the PC share was likely somewhere around 200 units, possibly fewer. The Collector's Edition occupies that collector's sweet spot where it's rare enough to be genuinely difficult to find but attainable enough that the hunt feels possible. Complete copies with the numbered figure and signed lithograph intact are the prize. For RPG collectors and McFarlane figure enthusiasts alike, this one checks every box.
