XBOX 360
Resident Evil 5 Collector's Edition
THQ3/13/2009Europe

This is the Resident Evil 5 Collector's Edition that went all in. The Xbox 360 version came loaded with a steelbook game case, a 60-minute Making Of bonus disc, a 3-inch Chris Redfield figurine, a Kijuju necklace, a BSAA clothing patch, and a Tricell messenger bag. That's not a collector's edition. That's a survival kit.

The Chris Redfield figurine is the centerpiece, a compact sculpt of the boulder-punching legend himself in his RE5 tactical gear. Small enough to sit on a desk, detailed enough to earn its place next to bigger statues. The Kijuju necklace pulls directly from the game's African setting, giving you an in-universe artifact that most collectors won't immediately recognize as gaming merchandise, which is half the appeal. The BSAA patch lets you rep the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance like you actually passed the physical. And then there's the Tricell messenger bag, a functional daily-use item branded with the game's shadowy pharmaceutical corporation. Carrying a bag from the villains is exactly the kind of morally ambiguous fashion choice we respect.

The Making Of disc adds a full hour of behind-the-scenes content covering RE5's development, from the controversial setting choices to the cooperative gameplay overhaul that divided fans and attracted millions of new ones. For Xbox 360 collectors, this Collector's Edition is the definitive way to own Resident Evil 5. The physical extras span wearables, display pieces, and lore items, covering every angle of what makes a collector's edition worth the shelf space. Finding one complete with all six components intact is the real challenge now.
