Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Special Edition

Two thousand copies. Across all platforms. That number alone should make any collector sit up straighter. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Special Edition on Xbox 360 is one of those limited-run packages that flew under the radar at launch and now haunts wish lists with quiet persistence.
This wasn't some hastily assembled pre-order bonus bundle. The Special Edition came in a sealed cardboard box and packed in a parchment map of Amalur's Faelands, which is exactly the kind of cartographic artifact that belongs pinned to a wall or carefully preserved in a frame. The seven-piece dice set with its own dice bag nods to the game's deep RPG roots, a tangible link to the tabletop DNA that ran through every design decision. A full set of 40 Destiny Cards adds a collectible card element that's surprisingly hard to find complete these days.
The soundtrack CD preserves the score, while the Fate-Touched Weapons Pack DLC added nine weapons that boosted XP from Fate Shift Kills. But the real draw here is scarcity. This was pre-order only through the official online store, with a hard cap of 2,000 units split across platforms. The Xbox 360 allocation was a fraction of that total. For a game designed by the combined talents of R.A. Salvatore, Todd McFarlane, and Ken Rolston, the Special Edition represents the entry point into one of gaming's most fascinating collector tiers.
