Darksiders II Limited Edition
Death rides in on day one. The Darksiders II Limited Edition for Xbox 360 is a first-run release that includes a DLC code for the Argul's Tomb Expansion Pack, automatically upgraded for anyone who pre-ordered or grabbed a copy at launch.
Vigil Games built something special with Darksiders II. Where the original gave us War's brute-force apocalypse, the sequel handed the reins to Death and opened up a sprawling action RPG with loot systems, open exploration, and some of the most ambitious level design of the 360 generation. The Argul's Tomb expansion extends that experience into a frozen underworld dungeon, adding boss fights and gear that complement the main campaign's endgame.
First-run limited editions from this era are deceptively tricky to collect. At launch, everyone had one. Five years later, half of them are disc-only in GameStop bargain bins with the DLC code long redeemed. A complete Limited Edition with an unused code is the version that matters, the one that represents the game as Vigil intended it to be experienced on day one.
Darksiders II was the last game Vigil completed before THQ's collapse. That context gives every piece of its release history a certain weight. The Limited Edition is the most accessible entry point into collecting around a studio that burned bright and brief.
