Darksiders II Limited Edition
Death doesn't take a day off, and neither does a good deal on launch day. The Darksiders II Limited Edition on Playstation 3 was the automatic upgrade every pre-order and day one buyer received, bundling in a DLC code for the Argul's Tomb Expansion Pack alongside the base game. In a generation where publishers loved dangling post-launch content behind paywalls, THQ just handed it over to anyone who showed up early.
Darksiders II remains one of the PS3 era's most underrated action RPGs. Playing as Death himself on a quest to redeem his brother War, it blended Zelda-style dungeon design with loot-driven combat in a way few games have matched since. The franchise has its devoted following, and that cult status only grows with time.
For collectors, this Limited Edition sits in an interesting spot. It's technically a first-run variant, which means sealed copies represent that initial wave of enthusiasm. The Argul's Tomb DLC code adds a layer of completeness that later standard printings simply don't carry. On a shelf full of PS3 titles, it's a quiet flex, proof you were there when Death rode out on day one.
If you're building out a PS3 collection with any respect for the action RPG genre, this one belongs in the mix.
