A jack in the box. Ubisoft put a jack in the box in a collector's edition, and that alone makes this worth talking about. The Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Collector's Edition on Playstation 3 wraps Ezio's Roman campaign in a package that balances reverent lore-building with moments of genuine surprise.

The bonus disc delivers an exclusive making-of video, a digital sneak peek at the Assassin's Creed comic, trailers, developer diaries, and the game soundtrack, essentially a second disc of pure behind-the-scenes content. The physical map of Rome and art book ground the set in Brotherhood's meticulously recreated world, while the two additional single player maps, the Aqueduct and Trajan Market, expand the actual gameplay beyond what standard edition owners received. Then there's that jack in the box.

It's the kind of pack-in that stops you mid-unboxing and makes you grin. In a sea of statues and steelbooks, someone at Ubisoft decided that what this Collector's Edition really needed was an element of playful surprise, and they were right. It gives this edition a personality that separates it from every other Brotherhood variant on PS3.

The art book and map are the items that age best here. Physical art books from the PS3 era have become increasingly collectible as the industry has shifted toward digital-only extras, and the Rome map is the kind of wall-worthy piece that doubles as decor. For Brotherhood completionists, this Collector's Edition holds its own against the Codex and Auditore variants by leaning into character over sheer volume.

Sometimes the edition you remember most isn't the biggest one. It's the one with the jack in the box.
