Some collector's editions hand you a statue. This one hands you a story about the story. The Tomb Raider Final Hours Edition on Playstation 3 is a lean, content-focused package built around Geoff Keighley's behind-the-scenes deep dive into the reboot's grueling development.

If you followed the pre-release coverage, you know this was the era when Crystal Dynamics nearly reinvented Lara from scratch, and that saga alone is worth preserving. You get an exclusive art book, an in-game skin for Lara, and a digital copy of "The Final Hours of Tomb Raider" for Kindle Fire. It's a strange little time capsule, honestly.

The Kindle Fire requirement dates this thing harder than a flip phone in a museum, but that's part of the charm for us. This was the PS3 era, when publishers were still experimenting with what a "special edition" could be, and some of those experiments were genuinely interesting. The art book gives you development insight you won't find in a standard retail copy, and the Lara skin is a nice bonus for anyone still running multiplayer lobbies in the afterlife of PS3 online.

It's not the flashiest Tomb Raider package out there, but for collectors who care about the craft behind the game more than a chunk of resin on a shelf, this one speaks directly to you. A quiet, cerebral addition to any PS3 Tomb Raider collection.
