Middle-earth deserves better than a standard Blu-ray case, and Snowblind Studios knew it. The Lord of the Rings War in the North SteelBook Edition on PlayStation 3 wraps one of the grittier entries in Tolkien's gaming legacy inside packaging worthy of the forges of Numenor.

But the real draw here isn't the SteelBook itself. It's the Stinger Sword and Anduril Sword replicas bundled inside. We're talking about the Flame of the West, reforged from the shards of Narsil, sitting on your shelf next to the blade that kept Rangers alive in the wild. These are the kinds of physical extras that ground a collection in the lore. They're not generic figurines or art cards. They're weapons pulled straight from the mythology, and they carry the weight of that source material.

War in the North carved out its own space in the Lord of the Rings franchise by going darker and more action-RPG than previous entries. The SteelBook Edition, released during that sweet spot of PS3 collecting when disc-based special editions still meant something, packages the experience with artifacts that feel genuinely in-universe. For Tolkien collectors and PS3 enthusiasts alike, this one checks every box. Two iconic swords, premium packaging, and a game that let us explore the parts of Middle-earth the Fellowship never reached.
