Everything is awesome, especially the pants. The LEGO Movie Videogame Western Emmet Minitoy Edition on PlayStation 3 takes TT Games' tie-in platformer and gives it the most hilariously on-brand bonus content imaginable: four pairs of magical pants.

Tornado Pants let you spin around and vacuum up studs. Prospector Pants spawn high-value studs like a denim gold mine. Hot Pants set you on fire, because of course they do. And Jack Rabbit Pants boost your jump height to reach those annoyingly out-of-reach platforms. It's the kind of content that perfectly mirrors the movie's cheerful absurdity, where ordinary objects become extraordinary through sheer enthusiasm and imagination. The Western Emmet branding gives this edition a distinct frontier flavor that sets it apart from standard copies.

The LEGO Movie Videogame arrived during peak LEGO game popularity on the PS3, when TT Games had refined their formula into something families and collectors alike kept coming back to. The movie tie-in was sharper than anyone expected, capturing the film's visual style and humor with surprising faithfulness. This particular edition is a quirky footnote in the LEGO game lineup. It's not packed with statues or art books, but that's part of its charm. It's a lighthearted, self-aware package for a lighthearted, self-aware game. The pants-based DLC is so wonderfully silly that it becomes a conversation piece on its own. For collectors who appreciate the oddball editions, the ones that make you smile just reading the contents list, the Western Emmet Minitoy Edition fills that niche perfectly.
