Strictly Limited Games

A raccoon riding a llama to save video games from corporate greed. If that pitch doesn't immediately sell you, the 500-copy print run should. The SuperEpic: The Entertainment War Special Limited Edition for PlayStation 4 from Strictly Limited Games and GamesRocket is one of the smallest PS4 limited runs you'll encounter, individually numbered and packed with collectibles.

SuperEpic is a Metroidvania with teeth. Set in 2084, it imagines a world where one mega-corporation controls all of gaming through predatory microtransactions and addiction algorithms. You play as Tan Tan the raccoon and his llama steed Ola, tearing through a massive interconnected world with combo-based combat, multiple endings, and gorgeous 16/32-bit era cartoon sprites. The satire hits uncomfortably close to home, which is exactly why it works.

The Special Limited Edition box delivers. An original game soundtrack, die-cut character sticker set, an art booklet doubling as a game manual, and an enamel character pin set with magnetic latch. That pin set is the standout. Enamel pins with proper magnetic backing show a level of care that matches the game's own attention to detail. At 500 copies worldwide, this is the kind of PS4 release that slips under the radar at launch and surfaces years later as a sought-after piece. The game's anti-corporate message wrapped in a corporate collector's package is the exact kind of irony we can appreciate.
