SuperEpic: The Entertainment War Special Limited Edition (NSW)
Strictly Limited Games

A Metroidvania about fighting evil game publishers, released as a limited physical edition by a boutique publisher. The irony isn't lost on us, and it's delicious. The SuperEpic: The Entertainment War Special Limited Edition for Nintendo Switch from Strictly Limited Games and GamesRocket is limited to just 700 individually numbered copies worldwide, making it one of the tighter Switch runs from the label.

SuperEpic drops you into 2084 as Tan Tan, a raccoon mounted on a llama named Ola, storming the headquarters of RegnantCorp, the last game company on Earth. The Metroidvania structure is rock solid. A sprawling interconnected map, combo-based combat with a customizable action set, an economy-driven upgrade system, handcrafted levels with multiple endings, and an unlockable rogue-lite mode for when the main campaign isn't punishing enough. The 16/32-bit cartoon sprites are gorgeous, and the satirical writing keeps things sharp without becoming preachy.

Inside the Special Limited Edition box, you'll find the original soundtrack, a die-cut character sticker set, an art booklet with integrated game manual, and an enamel character pin set with magnetic latch closure. The pins alone justify the collector's treatment. At 700 copies for the Switch version, this sits firmly in "blink and you'll miss it" territory. Switch physical collectors know how fast sub-1,000 runs evaporate, and a Metroidvania this clever with extras this polished is exactly the kind of release that defines a curated collection.
