SaGa Frontier (Square Millennium Collection)

The SaGa Frontier Square Millennium Collection is the deep-cut Squaresoft pick that proves you were paying attention in 1997. Released in 2000 as part of the Japan-only Millennium Collection wave, this PS1 reissue of SaGa Frontier pairs the seven-protagonist anthology RPG with a rose-themed teacup and saucer set and an original Squaresoft blue t-shirt, the kind of homey collector bonuses that only the Millennium Collection ever did.
SaGa Frontier was Akitoshi Kawazu turning the SaGa formula loose on Regions, a free-form universe where seven completely different protagonist stories shared one massive world. T260G. Asellus. Red. Blue. The Lute. The Magic Glyph system. Combos so wild they earned their own dedicated fan wikis. We never agreed on the best route, and we still don't.
The teacup set is the kind of bonus that fits the SaGa tone. Quiet, painterly, oddly domestic. Rose pattern, matching saucer, the sort of object that looks like it belongs in a corner shelf next to your favorite mug, except this one is from the Square Millennium Collection wave.
The Squaresoft blue tee is a piece of physical Squaresoft branding from a moment when the company still felt like a band, not a corporation. Wearable history.
Series 1 of the Millennium Collection, released in 2000. Japan exclusive. Never localized. For SaGa fans, this is the piece you actually want. For Squaresoft completists, this is the entry-level Millennium Collection set, the one that opens the door to chasing all eleven.
