Machinarium Collector's Edition
Amanita Design3/5/2010

Sometimes the quietest games produce the most charming collector's editions. The Machinarium Collector's Edition for PC takes Amanita Design's beloved point-and-click adventure and wraps it in a package that feels handcrafted, just like the game itself. You get an additional CD featuring the game's gorgeous soundtrack plus five bonus tracks, a booklet filled with never-before-seen concept art, an A3 poster, and a printed walkthrough.

The soundtrack alone justifies the hunt. Tomas Dvorak's score for Machinarium is one of the most celebrated in indie gaming history, a warm, tinkling, mechanical dreamscape that lives rent-free in the heads of anyone who's played it. Having it on a physical disc feels right for a game that's all about tangible, tactile problem-solving.

The concept art booklet pulls back the curtain on those hand-painted backgrounds and rusty robot characters we fell in love with. The A3 poster gives you something frame-worthy. And the printed walkthrough is a relic of an era when you solved puzzles with a paper guide on your desk, not a browser tab.

For indie game collectors, this is a cornerstone piece. Machinarium helped define the modern indie movement, and this Collector's Edition captures that moment with the same care and personality the developers poured into every screen of the game.
