Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Exclusive Edition
Twelve. Not twelve hundred. Not twelve thousand. Twelve total units across all platforms. The Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Exclusive Edition on Xbox 360 might be one of the rarest collector's editions in the entire seventh-generation library, and it exists because of a happy accident.
When the official online store accidentally oversold the already-scarce Signature Edition by 12 units, the team at Treehouse could have simply cancelled orders and issued refunds. Instead, they created an entirely new tier. Signature Edition buyers received an email offering a chance to upgrade, and the first 12 to respond got bumped to the Exclusive Edition. It's identical to the Signature Edition, with one critical difference: an alternative Todd McFarlane print numbered out of 12, replacing the Signature Edition's print numbered out of 300.
The origin story alone makes this a collector's legend. Born from an inventory error, elevated by a studio that chose generosity over convenience, and limited to a number you can count on your fingers plus two thumbs. If you're holding an Xbox 360 copy of this, you own one of the most exclusive console releases ever produced. The kind of piece that doesn't just sit on a shelf. It anchors an entire collection.
