Here's a collector's edition that made you build it yourself. The Haze Tin on Playstation 3 included the standard game, a metal tin, and a yellow HAZE glow stick, but here's the twist: the tin and glow stick shipped sealed separately from the game. That means the buyer had to break the seal on the tin to actually combine everything into the intended package. It's the IKEA of collector's editions.

This was technically a pre-order bonus through GAME stores in the UK, which already limits the pool significantly. But the unusual packaging arrangement creates an interesting collector's dilemma. A truly "sealed" complete set means both the tin and the game are still in their original wrapping, never combined as intended. An "assembled" set means someone broke the tin's seal to insert the game. Neither state is wrong, but both tell a different story about the previous owner.

The yellow glow stick is peak mid-2000s promotional energy. Haze leaned hard into its neon-fueled, drug-enhanced soldier aesthetic, and a physical glow stick captures that vibe in a way no art book ever could. Whether it still glows is another question entirely, but as a shelf piece it radiates era-appropriate charm.

Haze itself became one of the PS3's most notorious disappointments, hyped as a console exclusive killer app that landed with a thud. But collector culture has a funny way of rehabilitating commercial failures. The game's infamy actually makes this tin edition more interesting, not less. It's a time capsule of PS3-era ambition, complete with a glow stick and an identity crisis.

A weird, wonderful piece of PS3 history.
