Dragon Age Origins Collector's Edition

BioWare built a world worth mapping, and then they literally included the map. The Dragon Age Origins Collector's Edition on Xbox 360 comes in either a SteelBook or plastic case depending on your region, wrapped in a plastic slipcover, with a bonus DVD, downloadable content code, and, for non-UK releases, a cloth map of Ferelden. The regional packaging variations make this a particularly interesting piece for collectors.
The SteelBook version was distributed across mainland Europe, while UK buyers received a plastic case without the cloth map. Meanwhile, in Australia, EB Games held exclusivity on the tin version, with other retailers stocking a cardboard variant that also lacked the cloth map. Three distinct versions of the same Collector's Edition, each with different materials and inclusions.
That's a completionist's challenge and a variant hunter's dream. Dragon Age Origins launched BioWare's dark fantasy franchise with a depth that RPG fans still reference, and this Collector's Edition respects that ambition. The cloth map is the standout piece.
Physical maps were already becoming rare in gaming by 2009, and getting one made of actual cloth felt like a deliberate nod to the tabletop RPG roots that Dragon Age proudly wears on its sleeve.
