Dead Island Collector's Edition (Survival Kit)

This is less a collector's edition and more a genuine survival kit that someone at Deep Silver's Polish division assembled with alarming sincerity. The Dead Island Collector's Edition, subtitled the Survival Kit, for PlayStation 3 is a hulking package that treats the zombie apocalypse like an actual logistical problem. You get the Gore edition of the game with its Bloodbath Arena, Ripper, and Brain Wave Bomb DLC.

Then things get weird. A working flashlight (batteries not included, naturally). A branded water bottle.

A survival bag. A lanyard printed with the game's Polish website URL. There's a polo shirt in size large, because apparently the undead respect a dress code.

An A2 double-sided poster, a door hanger warning about the zombie apocalypse in Polish, a soundtrack disc, and a fan kit DVD round things out. Both physical discs arrive in white paper envelopes, which is either charmingly budget or oddly authentic depending on your perspective. This edition was clearly built for the Polish market, and that regional specificity is exactly what makes it fascinating on a collector's shelf.

It's not trying to be elegant. It's trying to be useful when the world ends. The survival bag alone makes this a conversation piece, and the sheer volume of branded gear means you could cosplay as the world's most prepared resort tourist.
