PLAYSTATION 4
Cannon Dancer - Osman (PS4)
Strictly Limited Games

The white whale of 90s arcade action finally has a disc-based home. Cannon Dancer, also known as Osman, lands on PlayStation 4 through Strictly Limited Games in a numbered run of just 1,500 copies worldwide. It ships with a colorful game manual and represents the first time this mythic 1996 title has been available on any home console.

If you've never heard of Cannon Dancer, that's precisely the point. Built by former Capcom developers at Mitchell Corp., this acrobatic action platformer appeared in a handful of Japanese and American arcades and then essentially disappeared. The few surviving PCBs trade for eye-watering sums. The game itself is a fever dream of bright colors, breakneck pacing, and a Persian-Arabian setting that feels like nothing else in the genre. Kirin the Cannon Dancer tears through six stages of escalating chaos, summoning duplicates of himself through red power-ups and unleashing screen-clearing special attacks.

For PS4 collectors, this sits in that sweet spot of the console's lifecycle. The disc-based library is mature, the physical market is tightening, and a 1,500-copy run of something this historically significant won't stay available forever. Quality-of-life additions like rewind and save/load functionality make the brutal arcade difficulty approachable without dulling the edge.

Some games earn their legend through massive sales. Cannon Dancer earned its through near-total absence. This limited PS4 edition turns thirty years of scarcity into something you can actually hold.
