Cannon Dancer - Osman Collector's Edition (PS4)
Strictly Limited Games

Some games vanish so completely they become myth. Cannon Dancer, also known as Osman, is exactly that kind of legend, and this Collector's Edition for PlayStation 4 from Strictly Limited Games finally gives it the physical reverence it deserves. Limited to just 750 individually numbered copies worldwide, this is one of the most exclusive arcade-to-console releases we've seen in years.

The backstory alone is the stuff of collector lore. A group of ex-Capcom developers broke away in the mid-90s, landed at Mitchell Corp., and created what many consider the spiritual successor to Strider. The game hit Japanese and US arcades in 1996 in such limited quantities that most players never even saw a cabinet. People have spent thousands hunting down original PCBs. That scarcity, that hunger for something almost no one got to touch, is baked into the DNA of this release.

This Collector's Edition box is loaded. You get the game on disc with an exclusive cover by original creator Yotsui-san, a premium magnetic-closure collector's box, a colorful game manual, an A2 reversible poster, arcade flyer, marquee sticker, and a metal arcade coin engraved with the kanji for "nothing," a nod to Kirin's nihilistic motivations. The material book pulls back the curtain on the development process with rare assets across roughly 25 pages. The OST on CD delivers 20 tracks mastered directly from the game. Then there's the diorama of the final Teki battle, a tenugui cloth featuring art by Kogure, and a photo/calendar metal frame. This box doesn't just sit on your shelf. It commands attention.

For collectors who chase the rare, the mythic, the games that most people only read about, this is the real thing made tangible.
