Call of Duty collector's editions have ranged from night vision goggles to remote-controlled drones. The Call of Duty: Ghosts Hardened Edition on PlayStation 4 sits on the more restrained end of that spectrum, and it's better for it. This is a focused package built for players who wanted the complete Ghosts experience without needing to clear extra shelf space for oversized hardware.

The steelbook anchors everything. Ghosts' art direction leaned heavily into its masked, shadowy identity, and that translates well to a metal case that feels appropriately weighty and dark. For collectors who display their PS4 steelbooks together, this one holds its own in the lineup.

A paracord strap gives you something tangible from the game's survival-military world. It's compact, it's themed, and it doesn't end up in a drawer the way some collector's edition trinkets do.

The digital side of this edition is where the real depth lives. The Free Fall bonus map created one of the most memorable multiplayer scenarios in Ghosts, a skyscraper in mid-collapse that turned every match into controlled chaos. Four DLC packs came included via the Season Pass, covering additional maps, modes, and content that extended the game's life well beyond launch. A player pattern, player card, player background, and the official soundtrack filled out the bonus digital content.

The Hardened Edition occupies a sweet spot that can be hard to find in the collector's market. It's more than a standard copy but not so overstuffed that it loses focus. Every item in the box connects back to the Ghosts identity, whether that's the steelbook's aesthetic, the paracord's tactical roots, or the content that fleshed out the full multiplayer experience. Clean, complete, and built to last on a shelf.
