The middle tier that gets it right. The Call Of Duty: Ghosts Hardened Edition on Xbox 360 packed a SteelBook, paracord strap, the Free Fall bonus map, a season pass for four DLC packs, and a suite of digital bonuses into a package that felt premium without requiring a forklift to get home. The player pattern, card, background, and official soundtrack filled out the digital side nicely.

There's something to be said for restraint in collector's editions. The Prestige tier grabbed headlines with its camera, but the Hardened Edition is the one that actually looks right on a shelf. The SteelBook slides in next to your other 360 cases with purpose. The paracord strap can sit beside it or get tucked inside the box. Everything has a place.

The Free Fall map deserves a mention for scarcity reasons alone. It was a special edition exclusive that depicted a skyscraper collapsing in real-time during multiplayer, and it never hit the general store as a standalone purchase. That kind of locked content, tied exclusively to physical editions, is exactly the type of detail that separates a collection from a pile of games.

Ghosts represented the end of an era on 360, the last mainline COD before the franchise shifted its full weight to next-gen. The Hardened Edition captures that moment cleanly. SteelBook, strap, season pass, exclusive map. No filler. For collectors who appreciate editions that know exactly what they are, this one delivers.
