Bulletstorm Epic Edition
Sometimes a game just wants you to kick a guy into a cactus, and honestly, we respect that. The Bulletstorm Epic Edition on Xbox 360 gave People Can Fly's gloriously unhinged shooter the launch treatment it deserved, bundling bonus content that made the carnage even sweeter. This one shipped with 25,000 in-game XP points to get your skillshots rolling early, the Peace Maker carbine weapon for some extra firepower variety, and visual upgrades to Grayson's main energy leash, the tool that turned every encounter into a creative kill puzzle.
But the real headline here was the invite to the Gears of War 3 multiplayer beta, which at the time made this edition practically mandatory for anyone plugged into the Xbox ecosystem. Bulletstorm never got the franchise legs it deserved, which makes this Epic Edition a snapshot of a moment when the industry briefly rewarded pure, absurd fun. For collectors who lived through the Xbox 360's golden years of disc-based shooters, this one sits on the shelf as proof that not everything needed to be a cover shooter to matter.
A loud, proud entry from the console wars era that's only gotten harder to find complete.
