Battlefield Bad Company 2 Limited Edition
The console wars era gave us some of the best first-day pickups in collecting history, and the Battlefield Bad Company 2 Limited Edition on Xbox 360 is a textbook example. This first-run release came in a plastic case stamped with a metal foil logo, instantly distinguishing it from later printings. Inside, "VIP bonuses" unlocked early access to the M1A1 Thompson, the M1911 Pistol, and four vehicles, giving day-one players a real edge in what became one of the most beloved multiplayer shooters of the generation.
Every pre-ordered and launch day copy was the Limited Edition, which means it was everywhere at release and nowhere a few years later. That metal foil logo is the telltale sign. It catches the light on the shelf in a way the standard case never could, a subtle nod that you were there when DICE reminded everyone that Battlefield could absolutely go toe-to-toe with the biggest shooters on the market.
For 360 collectors who lived through the golden age of online multiplayer, this one's a time capsule.
