Battlefield Bad Company 2 Limited Edition

PLAYSTATION 3
Battlefield Bad Company 2 Limited Edition
Americas

Same Limited Edition, different pre-order sweetener. This version of the Battlefield Bad Company 2 Limited Edition for Playstation 3 includes all the standard Limited Edition features, the metallic foil logo case, VIP bonuses with the M1A1 Thompson, M1911 Pistol, and four vehicle unlocks, but adds the GameStop pre-order exclusive: early access to the AKS-74U Carbine and the Squad Rush game mode.

For collectors, the distinction between pre-order variants matters. This GameStop version represents a very specific retail channel from a very specific era. Remember when GameStop exclusive content was actually worth something? When you'd choose your retailer based on which bonus appealed to your playstyle? That's the world this copy comes from, and it's a world that doesn't really exist anymore.

Squad Rush was a tighter, more tactical version of the already excellent Rush mode, and getting early access to it was a legitimate perk. The AKS-74U was a capable close-quarters weapon that gave GameStop buyers a real edge in those opening weeks. These details might seem granular, but variant collectors live for this level of specificity.

Both Bad Company 2 Limited Editions look nearly identical on the shelf, which is precisely why knowing the difference matters. The pre-order insert or included documentation is what tells the story. If you're building a comprehensive Battlefield collection or documenting PS3 retail history, having both variants is the kind of completionist move that separates a collection from an accumulation.
