Battlefield 4 Deluxe Edition

Not every edition needs a statue to earn its keep. The Battlefield 4 Deluxe Edition on PlayStation 3 kept things lean and tactical, bundling the base game with the China Rising Expansion Pack and three Gold Battlepacks right out of the gate. For the uninitiated, Battlepacks were Battlefield 4's randomized reward system, each one containing a mix of weapon accessories, dog tags, knives, XP boosts, and character customization items.
Three gold-tier packs meant you hit the ground running with gear that other players had to grind for. The China Rising DLC added four massive maps inspired by the Chinese mainland, complete with new vehicles and the kind of wide-open terrain that rewarded patience over twitch reflexes. This was the PS3 generation's approach to a "day one advantage" package, back when DLC expansions still shipped on disc and multiplayer persistence actually meant something.
It's a clean, no-nonsense upgrade tier that gave early adopters a head start without cluttering the box with tchotchkes. For collectors focused on complete PS3 libraries, having the Deluxe Edition means owning the version that came loaded from the start, not the one that needed a dozen post-launch downloads to feel whole.
