Two items. That's all Ubisoft put in this box, and somehow they nailed it. The Assassin's Creed III Join or Die Edition on PlayStation 3 keeps things lean with an Assassin medallion and George Washington's notebook, both designed to feel like props pulled straight from the Animus.

The medallion carries the weight and symbolism of the Brotherhood, the kind of item you hold in your palm and immediately understand why someone would pledge allegiance to a secret order. Washington's notebook grounds the edition in its Revolutionary War setting, offering an in-universe artifact that blurs the line between game merchandise and historical fiction. This is the PS3-era approach to collector's editions that aged the best.

No oversized boxes packed with filler, no foam inserts cradling items you'll never look at twice. Just two thoughtfully chosen pieces that sit together and tell a cohesive story. The Join or Die name itself is a piece of American iconography, borrowed from Benjamin Franklin's famous political cartoon, and having that energy attached to your copy of AC III gives the whole package a gravity that flashier editions sometimes lack.

For Assassin's Creed collectors who've grown tired of statues gathering dust, the Join or Die Edition offers something different. These are the items you keep on your desk, not behind glass.
