Army of Two the Devil's Cartel Overkill Edition
EA3/26/2013Americas

Masks, guns, and a Day of the Dead loadout. The Army of Two The Devil's Cartel Overkill Edition for Xbox 360 leaned hard into the series' signature style, packing a standard case with enough DLC to make Salem and Rios feel properly dressed for the occasion.

This GameStop-exclusive edition in the US was handed out to all pre-orders and day-one purchases, which means it was technically the default version for anyone who showed up on time. Inside you'll find codes for the TAH-9 handgun, Double-D Shotgun, Polymer and Overkill outfits with matching masks, and the Overkillers contract mission. The standout additions are the Day of the Dead outfit, masks, and a custom AK-47 skin that gave the game's already over-the-top aesthetic an extra layer of flair. Pre-order buyers got even more with the Hit Maker Kit, featuring a bonus co-op mission and custom gear designed by B.o.B and Big Boi.

Army of Two always understood something about co-op gaming that other franchises ignored: looking ridiculous with your buddy was half the fun. The Overkill Edition doubled down on that philosophy. Every DLC item here is about customization, about making your duo stand out in the most absurd way possible.

For Xbox 360 collectors, this sits in an interesting spot. The DLC-focused approach means sealed copies with unused codes carry the real value. The Day of the Dead themed items in particular give this edition a visual identity that separates it from the standard release. It's loud, it's unapologetic, and it's exactly what an Army of Two edition should be.
