Aliens: Colonial Marines Extermination Edition

Game over, man. Game over. Well, not quite, because the Aliens: Colonial Marines Extermination Edition on Playstation 3 at least gave you some solid bonus content to soften the blow of one of gaming's most infamous launches.
Four playable movie characters join the roster: Sergeant Apone, Corporal Hicks, Private Hudson, and Private Drake, pulled straight from the 1986 film and dropped into multiplayer. You also get Ripley's Flamethrower, additional marine customization items, a sawed-off double barrel shotgun, and a gear upgrade boost for early access to epic weapon upgrades. Look, we all know how this game landed.
But collector's editions aren't always about the game. Sometimes they're about the artifact, and Aliens editions carry the weight of one of the most beloved sci-fi franchises ever committed to film. The movie character DLC is the real hook for franchise collectors, letting you stomp through Xenomorph territory as the actual Colonial Marines from Cameron's masterpiece.
The Extermination Edition is the mid-tier package, sitting below the full Collector's Edition, but it still delivers enough franchise-specific content to justify its place on an Aliens shelf. For collectors who document gaming history in all its triumphs and disasters, Colonial Marines is a chapter that can't be skipped. This edition tells that chapter with a flamethrower in hand.
