X Men: Destiny Havok Edition
Marvel gave us decades of X-Men stories about identity, belonging, and the struggle to find your place in a hostile world. Silicon Knights gave us X-Men: Destiny, which let us punch things with mutant powers until the credits rolled. The X Men: Destiny Havok Edition on PlayStation 3 bundles the game with a suite of in-game bonuses themed around Alex Summers himself.
You get Plasma Damage, the ability for projectiles to pass through your character, Increased Resistance, and Increased Mutant Power. These are gameplay-altering perks that fundamentally change how you experience the combat. Now, X-Men: Destiny didn't set the world on fire critically, but that's exactly what makes the Havok Edition interesting to collectors.
Games that underperform commercially tend to have lower print runs on their special editions, and lower print runs mean fewer copies floating around a decade and a half later. The PS3 era is littered with these overlooked special editions that quietly became uncommon while everyone was focused on the blockbusters. For X-Men completionists and PS3 collectors who appreciate the deep cuts, the Havok Edition is the kind of curio that adds genuine character to a collection.
Not every piece on the shelf needs to be a masterpiece. Sometimes the oddities tell a better story.
