The Tales series has always rewarded its faithful, and day one was no exception. The Tales of Graces F Day One Edition for PlayStation 3 bundles a hardback artbook, an original soundtrack on physical disc, a making-of videos disc, Tales of Destiny 2 costumes via DLC, and exclusive PS3 themes. For a Day One Edition, this is remarkably generous.

The hardback artbook captures the vibrant character and world design that studio Namco Tales put into Graces F, one of the more underappreciated entries in the franchise. Having the soundtrack on an actual physical disc is a detail that matters to collectors who grew up pulling insert CDs out of game cases. Same goes for the making-of videos getting their own disc rather than being buried behind a download code.

The Tales of Destiny 2 costume DLC is a neat bit of fan service, bridging two entries in a series that thrives on its own history. This was the PS3 era doing what it did best: giving early adopters tangible rewards for showing up on launch day. Tales collector's editions tend to hold their community value because the fanbase is loyal and the print runs were modest.

If you're building a complete Tales library on PS3, this Day One Edition is the version that belongs on the shelf.
