Shadow of the Ninja - Reborn Collector's Edition (PlayStation 4)
Strictly Limited Games

Shadow of the Ninja was one of those NES games that the devoted never stopped talking about, and 33 years later, the original team came back to prove the cult was right all along. The Shadow of the Ninja - Reborn Collector's Edition for PlayStation 4 is a Strictly Limited Games exclusive, capped at 150 individually numbered copies worldwide. That makes it one of the rarest physical PS4 releases you'll find.

Tengo Project rebuilt everything. The 8-bit sprites of Hayate and Kaede are now high-quality modern pixel art, the five original stages have been faithfully recreated with devious new traps and puzzles, and a brand new sixth stage adds fresh territory. New weapons and ninja tools, from shurikens to a gunpowder gun to healing rice balls, expand the combat well beyond the NES original. The co-op that made the 1990 release a sleepover staple returns fully intact.

Inside the Collector's Edition box, you'll find an acrylic controller stand featuring both ninja protagonists, a metal collector coin, a Japanese-inspired desk mat, a pixel art sticker sheet, an eight-card boss and stage set with concept art on the front and level details on the back, the original soundtrack on CD with compositions by Iwatsuki and Mizutani, and a large A2 poster. The serialized game ships with an exclusive cover and manual.

One hundred and fifty copies total. The PS4 collector's market doesn't get much more exclusive than this, and that controller stand alone will make your setup look like a ninja dojo.
