Some collector's editions promise the world and deliver a pamphlet. The Tabula Rasa Limited Collector's Edition for PC actually commits to the bit. Richard Garriott's ambitious MMO got a send-off package that leans hard into its military sci-fi identity, and the result is one of the more thematically cohesive CE boxes from the mid-2000s PC era.

The standout here is the AFS challenge coin. Heavy, metallic, and designed like actual military issue, it's the kind of piece that sits in a display case and sparks conversations. Pair that with the dog tags and you've got two props that feel pulled straight from the game's Allied Free Sentients universe. The classified maps and field guide reinforce that in-universe briefing aesthetic, making the whole package feel less like merchandise and more like a dossier you'd crack open before deployment.

You also get a Making Of DVD, which for a game with Garriott's fingerprints all over it, carries real documentary weight. The briefing from his in-game character General British is a nice touch of lore commitment. Three in-game items round things out, though with the servers long dark, those are strictly nostalgic footnotes now.

Tabula Rasa didn't survive, but its collector's edition tells the story of a game that swung big. For Garriott completionists and MMO historians, this one belongs on the shelf.
