The game itself is pure late-era NES charm. Tam and Rit set out to rescue their kidnapped mother from Maboots Tower, armed with enchanted rods and rainbow shoes their late father left behind. Forty scenes of co-op platforming goodness, the sort of tight, pattern-based gameplay that rewards memorization and punishes button mashing. It's a title that flew under the radar in the West originally, making this physical release feel like unearthing buried treasure.
