Panorama Cotton Collector's Edition (PS4)

PLAYSTATION 4
Panorama Cotton Collector's Edition (PS4)
Strictly Limited Games

The pseudo-3D showpiece of the Mega Drive era just got the collector's edition treatment it always deserved. The Panorama Cotton Collector's Edition for PlayStation 4 is a Strictly Limited Games exclusive, individually numbered, limited to a mere 800 copies worldwide.

Panorama Cotton originally stunned players in 1994 by pushing Sega's 16-bit hardware into territory nobody thought possible, delivering a colorful into-the-screen rail shooter with scaling and depth that defied the console's specs. Playing as candy-driven witch Nata de Cotton and her fairy companion Silk, you blast through vivid stages in pursuit of whoever is burning Cotton's beloved Willows. The story is charmingly ridiculous, and the action is relentless.

Now, the collector's package. You're getting a natsume figure, a yunomi cup, a window sticker, two lenticular cards, six postcards, an A2 poster, a kakemono wall scroll, the original soundtrack, the PS4 disc with manual, all housed in a collector's edition box. The kakemono and yunomi especially give this set a distinctly Japanese aesthetic that mirrors the game's roots. It's a display piece that earns every inch of shelf space it occupies.

800 copies globally for a collector's edition of a game this historically significant in the shmup community. That's not a limited run, that's borderline exclusive. This is the kind of set that defines what it means to collect physical games in the modern era, a bridge between 90s nostalgia and present-day craftsmanship.
