This one's going to raise some eyebrows on the shelf, and that's entirely the point. The Otomedius Excellent Collector's Edition on Xbox 360 is a love letter to Konami's anime-infused shoot-em-up series, and the included extras lean fully into the aesthetic with zero apologies.

The two-sided pillowcase is the conversation starter. It's bold, it's unapologetically otaku, and it's become one of those collector's items that people either hunt obsessively or pretend doesn't exist. There's no middle ground, and that polarizing energy is exactly what makes it collectible. The 64-page artbook is substantial for a 360-era pack-in, filled with the detailed character illustrations and spacecraft designs that define the Otomedius visual identity. For fans of Gradius lineage shooters, it's a proper archive.

The soundtrack disc pulls music from across the Otomedius series, giving you a physical audio companion to one of the more niche shmup franchises of the generation. Konami's willingness to publish this in the West at all was a minor miracle, and the collector's edition is even harder to come by. As the years pass, niche Japanese Xbox 360 releases like this only become more desirable. The overlap of shmup collectors and 360 enthusiasts is small but fiercely dedicated, and this edition sits right at the center of that Venn diagram.
