Neverwinter Nights 2 Collector's Edition (Australia)
Atari11/16/2006

Pen and paper in a video game collector's edition. Obsidian knew exactly who was buying this. The Neverwinter Nights 2 Collector's Edition for PC (Australian release) is a compact but thoughtful package that speaks directly to the D&D faithful, the kind of players who still keep character sheets in a binder.

Inside you'll find a cloth map, an art book, a pen and paper set for your actual tabletop sessions, and an in-game item called the Merchant's Friend. It's a lean set of contents, but every piece earns its place. The cloth map is a staple of RPG collector's editions for good reason, and the pen and paper set is a surprisingly practical nod to the franchise's tabletop roots. Neverwinter Nights was always the digital bridge to Dungeons & Dragons proper, and this edition reinforces that connection.

Neverwinter Nights 2 arrived in 2006 as Obsidian's follow-up to BioWare's beloved original, and it delivered one of the strongest campaigns in CRPG history. The Australian Collector's Edition is a regional variant, which means lower print numbers and tighter availability than the standard global release. For CRPG collectors and D&D completionists in particular, this regional edition is a clean, understated addition that doesn't try to overwhelm. Sometimes the best collector's editions are the ones that just get it right.
