Some games transcend their genre so completely that collecting them becomes a statement of taste. The Celeste Collector's Edition for PC is one of those releases, a collaboration between Limited Run and Fangamer that wraps one of the greatest platformers ever made in a package overflowing with personality and heart. Region free, manufactured to demand, and stacked with extras that reflect the game's mountain-climbing soul.

Celeste doesn't need an introduction, but it deserves one anyway. Maddy Thorson's masterpiece about climbing Celeste Mountain is simultaneously a pixel-perfect platformer and an unflinching exploration of anxiety and self-doubt. It won basically every award that mattered and still holds up as a benchmark for what indie games can achieve. The soundtrack by Lena Raine is iconic in its own right, and here it comes on a cassette tape, a format choice that feels perfectly in tune with the game's retro-modern aesthetic.

The Collector's Edition is dense with thoughtful extras. The debossed G2 Blu-ray SteelBook, designed by Nina Matsumoto, is gorgeous. The 16x20 poster of Celeste Mountain captures the game's sense of scale. Then there's the strawberry plush keychain, sticker sheet, mountain patch, postcard, and a strawberry pie recipe card, because of course there is. Game cover art by Amora Bettany ties it all together. Every item feels curated rather than filler.
