Twenty-five years of Metal Gear, and Kojima marked the occasion by giving Snake's PS3 swan song the anniversary treatment. The Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots 25th Anniversary Edition on Playstation 3 celebrates a quarter-century of stealth action with an exclusive double-sided poster by legendary artist Yoji Shinkawa, plus on-disc trophy support that the original release famously lacked. That Shinkawa poster is the real prize here.

His ink-wash style defined Metal Gear's visual identity from the very beginning, and a double-sided print gives you two display options from one of gaming's most recognizable artists. It's the kind of inclusion that shows respect for the craft behind the franchise rather than just slapping a logo on generic merchandise. The trophy support addition was a big deal when this dropped.

Original MGS4 owners had been playing without trophies since 2008, so this anniversary edition made the game feel current again on PS3. For collectors, this represents the definitive version of Metal Gear Solid 4 on the platform, combining Kojima's final numbered Metal Gear entry with Shinkawa's artwork in a package that acknowledges the series' legacy. The PS3 era was Metal Gear's home, and this 25th Anniversary Edition is the version that belongs on a collector's shelf.

Clean, purposeful, and carrying the weight of two and a half decades of tactical espionage action.
