This might be the most unique edition on any PS3 collector's shelf. The Medal of Honor Warfighter Military Edition for PlayStation 3 wasn't sold to the general public. It was available exclusively through GovX, a shopping platform restricted to verified active, reserve, retired, and former military personnel. That's not a marketing gimmick. That's a genuine access barrier that makes this one of the rarest PS3 variants by design.

The Military Edition includes everything from the Limited Edition, with the addition of an exclusive unlock code that identified the player as active or former military within the game itself. A portion of proceeds went to the Navy SEAL Foundation, the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, and several military association partners. The edition was conceived as a way to honor the community the game was depicting, and that intent gives it a weight that most collector's editions simply don't carry.

Medal of Honor Warfighter caught criticism at launch, but its military authenticity was never in question. The game consulted directly with active operators, which famously led to real-world controversy. The Military Edition exists at the intersection of that authenticity and the collecting world, a PS3 release that most collectors literally could not purchase.

The verification requirement through GovX means the pool of original buyers was inherently limited. Finding one on the secondary market requires patience and luck, because the kind of person who qualified to buy this is often the kind of person who kept it. For PS3 collectors chasing true scarcity, not artificial limited-run scarcity but genuine restricted-access rarity, the Military Edition stands alone.
