Before it became a subtitle on annual releases, "Tier 1" meant something specific. It meant the operators who don't officially exist, running missions that never happened. The Medal of Honor Tier 1 Edition on PlayStation 3 builds its collector's package around that identity, bundling exclusive in-game content with a full HD remaster of Medal of Honor: Frontline.

That remaster alone carries serious weight. Frontline was a defining shooter of the PS2 era, and having it remastered and included on a PS3 disc gives this edition a cross-generational appeal that most special editions can't touch. The in-game extras lean into the Tier 1 fantasy with a Special Ops character skin exclusive to this edition, instant access to the Assault Class Tier 1 Operator with a visual multiplayer distinction, and the M60 and MP7 as exclusive weapons.

Early access to the TOZ194 and 870MCS shotguns and the Battlefield 3 beta rounded out the package at launch. This was EA's attempt to reclaim the military shooter space from Call of Duty, and the Tier 1 Edition reflects that ambition. It's stacked with content designed to make you feel like an insider from day one.

For PS3 collectors, the Frontline remaster is the real treasure here. It's a piece of shooter history preserved on a Blu-ray, bundled with a game that tried to bring authenticity back to a genre drowning in spectacle. The Tier 1 Edition respects where the series came from while pushing toward where it wanted to go.
