Walt would be proud. Or terrified. Probably both.

The Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two Special Edition on PlayStation 3 arrived in a limited Disney Mickey Epic Bucket, which is exactly as absurd and wonderful as it sounds. Inside that bucket sits a Mickey Mouse figure, an Oswald the Lucky Rabbit figure complete with baby Oswald, an 8GB Oswald-design USB flash drive, a paintbrush-styled pen with a green or blue color top, and a 32-page miniguide. This is Disney collectible culture colliding head-on with the PS3 era, and the result is gloriously weird.

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is one of animation's great lost sons, the character Walt created before Mickey existed, then lost in a contract dispute for decades. His inclusion here alongside Mickey gives this edition a layer of Disney history that most licensed game merch completely ignores. The bucket packaging alone is a conversation starter, the kind of oddball presentation that stands out in a sea of steelbooks and slipcovers.

That USB drive shaped like Oswald is already a time capsule of mid-2010s tech wrapped in 1920s cartoon charm. For Disney collectors who also happen to be gamers, or gamers who appreciate when a publisher commits fully to a theme, this Special Edition delivers character. Literally.

Two of them, plus a baby. The paintbrush pen ties the whole package back to Mickey's paint-and-thinner gameplay, proving someone on the design team actually cared. This is the kind of edition that gets more interesting with age.
