A game that predates most of our collections, revived and limited to 2,500 Switch cartridges. Lode Runner Legacy on Nintendo Switch is a Strictly Limited Games exclusive, individually numbered and ready to sit on your shelf as a piece of gaming archaeology wrapped in modern packaging. The original Lode Runner from the 80s basically invented the user-generated content movement before the internet existed, letting players design their own stages.

This legacy version carries that torch with a full editor for stages, characters, enemies, and items, all rendered in a charming voxel style. The core gameplay hasn't lost a step either. Dig traps, outsmart enemies, grab gold, escape.

Simple to understand, devious to master, especially in co-op where coordination becomes its own puzzle. The Switch cartridge format feels right for a game built on pick-up-and-play design. At 2,500 copies worldwide, this is the largest run in the Lode Runner Legacy limited lineup, but "largest" still means finite.

Once these are gone, the only place you'll find them is the aftermarket.
