Limited Run Games

Two games walk into a collector's edition and magnetically connect to each other. Literally. Limited Run #161: 2064: Read Only Memories Collector's Edition for Vita is one half of an ingenious two-part display piece, with its companion being the VA-11 HALL-A Collector's Edition.

2064: Read Only Memories is a cyberpunk point-and-click adventure set in Neo-San Francisco, where you team up with a sentient ROM named Turing to unravel a mystery involving your missing friend. It's smart, it's stylish, and it wears its classic adventure game influences with pride. This Vita release puts it on physical cartridge, region free, limited to 1,500 copies worldwide.

The collector's edition box is printed on thick foil stock that produces a reflective metallic finish. One side features magnets that physically connect to the VA-11 HALL-A CE, and when you open both gatefold covers side by side, they form a four-panel panoramic artwork depicting characters from both games together. It's one of the most creative physical packaging ideas we've seen in the collector space. Inside you also get a dual-sided 18 by 24 inch poster, a PVC keychain, and the official game soundtrack.

At 1,500 copies, this is already scarce. But the magnetic connection gimmick means completionists need both CEs to get the full picture, literally. For Vita collectors especially, the library of physical releases grows more valuable by the year, and this one brings craftsmanship and clever design that most big-budget CEs never attempt.
