LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4 Collector's Edition

PLAYSTATION 3
LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4 Collector's Edition
Americas

Hogwarts in LEGO form was already irresistible, but the LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4 Collector's Edition on Playstation 3 sweetened the deal with some genuinely fun extras. This edition bundled the game with behind-the-scenes video content, a sneak peek at the Deathly Hallows film, on-set video clips, and four House Crest LEGO magnets that might be the most displayable bonus items any LEGO game has ever included.

Those House Crest magnets are the real hook. Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw, each rendered as a small LEGO-style magnet that works just as well on a collector's shelf as it does on a refrigerator. They're the kind of tactile, branded extra that bridges the gap between video game collecting and the broader world of Harry Potter memorabilia. The video content on the bonus disc is a nice time capsule of the franchise at its peak, when the films were still in active production and the excitement around Deathly Hallows was building to a fever pitch.

LEGO game collector's editions don't get talked about enough. They tend to target a family audience, which means fewer hardcore collectors grabbed them at launch, and the ones that survived intact are rarer than you'd think. The combination of two massive brands, LEGO and Harry Potter, gives this edition crossover appeal that most PS3 collector's editions simply can't match. Complete with all four magnets is the only way to own this one properly.
