Legend of Mana (Square Millennium Collection)

The Legend of Mana Square Millennium Collection is the artbook in physical form. Released by Squaresoft in 2000 as part of the Japan-only Millennium Collection wave, this premium PS1 reissue of Legend of Mana bundles the watercolor masterpiece with a jewel box in a music box style, an Elazul minifigure, and a Pearl minifigure, all in that signature Square branded outer box.
Legend of Mana is the entry in the Mana series that traded a single main quest for the Land Make system, the world you literally placed yourself, one artifact at a time. Yoko Shimomura on the soundtrack. Hand-painted backgrounds you can still pull up as wallpaper twenty years later. Elazul, Pearl, Niccolo, Tropicallo. We remember the names. We remember exactly how the Jumi storyline ends.
The jewel box is the bonus that earns the box price on its own. A music box style case, the kind of object that mirrors the Jumi stone arc of the game. Then there's the pair of minifigures: Elazul stoic and blue, Pearl small and white, the two characters whose tragedy is the emotional core of the entire game. Owning them is owning the central image of Legend of Mana in physical form.
Series 2 of the Millennium Collection, released September 28, 2000. Japanese only. Sealed copies are rare and they are not getting easier to find.
If your Mana shelf has Secret of Mana, Trials of Mana, and Sword of Mana but is missing this, your shelf has a Legend-shaped gap. This is the piece that closes it.
