Originally a Japan-only Xbox 360 release in 2011, Eschatos is a polygonal vertical shooter built around three elegant weapon types: a focused front shot, a spread wide shot, and a close-range shield that doubles as a devastating attack. The genius is in the simplicity. Five difficulty settings ease you in, then Original Mode, Advanced Mode, and Time Attack Mode ensure you never stop chasing mastery. Bundled alongside are its two spiritual predecessors, Judgement Silversword and Cardinal Sins, both originally WonderSwan exclusives and both remarkable shooters in their own right.
